INSHALLAH

It has to be about midnight right now.  I got my dose of Josiah for the day so I'm good...Just dead tired.  First off, let me tell you what the whole "Same sh#t, different language" thing is.  We found that all these things that we think only happen where we're from, happen EVERYWHERE.  CP time (Colored people)...Started in the motherland.  It doesn't stop there though.  Guys spittin game, groupies, chickenheads, fighting during concerts...It all happens wherever you go.  We've experienced all that and more.  Let me get to the good stuff though.  We went to a small town not too far from Senegal called Kaedi.  We were pre-warned that we would probably not be able to take a shower and not to wear the best of our best clothing.  Let's just say that I am glad that my momma raised a rider and that my group is as bout it as me.  We took ice cold showers, fought through mobs to get to our jeeps (the kids rode on the back of the vehicles just to get a look) and ate & drank what the natives did.  Shit, when in Rome is what I always say.  Lol.  Nah, for real.  It's an unforgettable cultural exchange.  The dances, food, people, clothing and everything is bigger than what you could imagine.  the one thing that I see that bridges it all is HIP HOP.  It's a lifestyle that is lived ALL OVER THE WORLD.  Our performance was crazy.  We performed with 2 local groups (one who is influenced by Tupac).  The energy was so crazy that I left the stage and freestyled from the audience.  They said that if we would wait at least an hour, the crowd would grow and DID IT!!!  OH...Let me tell you before I forget.  The other thing that doesn't change is how fresh the little boys are.  I was caught in a mob of touchy feely's who kept grabbing my butt.  I guess some things NEVER change.  Today, we performed at a refugee camp.  I had to hold back tears.  The kids there were beautiful and so welcoming.  I can't wait for the day that they're all back in their rightful places...INSHALLAH (God willing).  We collaborated with Unicef and World Vision and gave out book bags filled with supplies, toys and tee shirts.  The babies were grateful and so was I.  What am I missing?  We had MRE's, which is what our troops eat while fighting for our country.  We sat on the roof of our hotel and ate these ready made meals with some of our finest soldiers.  I feel like I'm missing something but if I did, I'll get it on the next blog.  I'm trying to finish up my memory card before I upload pics so give me a day or two.  Goddnight.
